Notes
Here are some top tips to help you succeed in making a Chicken Bacon Bake like a pro:
- For the best results, use fresh, high-quality chicken, bacon, and mushrooms. Fresh ingredients impart better flavors and textures to your dish.
- The cornflakes and cheese are equal parts; however, the goal is to cover the entire dish, so feel free to add more or less if needed. We suggest using unsweetened cornflakes, but if you can't locate them, then sweetened ones will suffice.
- Use regular soup if you can't locate condensed soup in your country.
- If you can only source one flavor, use two of that particular flavor.
- Bacon medallions or lean bacon that have had the fat removed is best.
- Fresh mushrooms are best used in chicken bacon bake; they must be sauteed before adding. However, you can use canned mushrooms if you're pressed for time. Avoid using frozen mushrooms because they produce too much water.
- Cooking times may vary depending on your oven and the size of your ingredients, so it's always a good idea to monitor the dish as it bakes.
- Before serving, let it rest for 5 minutes for the best flavor and texture.
- Chicken: Great alternatives are chicken thighs without the bone and turkey breast.
- Cheese and Cream: Substitute with dairy-free.
